The Idaho State Department of Education Has partnered with Apangea Math to bring your child a fun and exciting web-based program to help boost mathematics achievement. Studies show that students lose over two months of their learning in mathematics over the summer and that just a couple of hours of math work each week can eliminate this summer learning loss.

Apangea Math gives your child access to help from live, certified math teachers whenever they need help. Additionally, as a part of the Summer Math Splash, Apangea will be giving away over $1500 in prizes throughout the summer including a new HP Laptop! Apangea Math is available for FREE throughout the summer and can be accessed any place there is a computer with an internet connection.

You can also register for your very own parent account to monitor your child's progress throughout the summer.

Bill Pettis has been elected to represent zone 1 on the school board, and Judy Hyde has been elected to represent zone 3. They will assume their responsibilities on July 12.

Bear Lake Middle School is proud to announce Math Homework Helper offered through a grant from the National Education Foundation and cyberlearning.org. 7th and 8th grade students can review lessons, watch tutorials and get on-line help with their specific homework assignments from Mr. Crane and Mrs. Bassett. They can also develop their math skills by playing math games and activities free of charge. Personal math tutoring is also available at a very reasonable charge of $1 per 30 minutes. March 8, 2011: Supplemental Levy Election
The community will have the opportunity to vote on the special supplemental levy proposed by the school board. Full details can be read here. Mrs. Marilyn Hadd of Bear Lake Middle School won a $1,000 grant from the Steele Reese Foundation Special Project Fund in the Idaho Community Foundation. The grant will be used to purchase a smart board for Mrs. Hadd’s classroom.
